The Blockchain EXPO was held for three days in Chiba, Japan, from October 26 to 28, 2022. Many may wonder what happened at this exhibition, which is open only to connected business people.

We infiltrated the Blockchain EXPO to investigate! This article will cover our impressions of the event, the exhibitors, and the newly established Web3 & NFT World. If you are interested in the Japanese blockchain scene, please read on.

About Blockchain EXPO

Blockchain EXPO is one of the exhibitions held in NexTech Week, where several exhibitions are held simultaneously.

NexTech Week is held every fall and spring, and there are also other exhibitions, such as AI/Artificial Intelligence EXPO and Digital Human Resource Development EXPO.

The venue is Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, just outside of Tokyo. Although it is an exhibition, it is mainly a place for business meetings, so the general public is not allowed to enter. I saw many business people on the train en route to the expo.

Report on NFT-related Booths

It was the third time the Blockchain Expo was held, and a new "Web3 & NFT Zone" has been established. There seemed to be more NFT-related booths than in the previous show.

For example, CROOZ Blockchain Lab introduced the NFT game Project XENO.

Project XENO is a PvP game like Axie Infinity with three vs. three characters.

They told us that the weapons and skins are NFTs.

They exhibited at this year's event by introducing their service that allows NFT to distribute by QR code, IC card, and sound. At the booth, visitors could experience a service that allows you to receive NFTs by playing a sound on their phone, such as a song clip!

The rep at the booth shared his vision, "For example, we may be able to distribute NFTs directly from TVs."

This is the booth of NOX GALLERY, which provides a venue to exhibit NFTs, mainly in Tokyo.

Their goal is to connect NFT artists with their holders and to provide a venue for unknown NFT artists to promote themselves.

This year's event featured a booth with a Gacha, a gadget you can use to grab NFTs.

Lively business negotiations were taking place

This year’s show had significantly more people and projects than last year. Although the population of the blockchain/NFT is still tiny, the active business meetings at the EXPO show that the industry is gradually expanding despite the crypto winter.

The following 4th Blockchain EXPO is scheduled for May 10 to May 12, 2023.
