The Bored Ape Yacht Club, by far the most widely known NFT project, allows a seven-member council to keep an eye on the community. With these members of the community overlooking the rest, tyranny or peace may make its way into the BAYC community. The team assembled the council of apes "with a proven track record" to make sure the rest of the community is in good hands while they build and provide for the project. BAYC twitter reads that the, "Council was formed with the intention of representing the club at large and providing an avenue for new perspectives."
The Bored Ape Collection contains 10,000 NFTs, with an additional 20,000 Mutants from the Mutant Ape Yacht Club. As of September 24, 2022, there are 6,454 owners of the original BAYC collection and we'll assume there are two times as many when it comes to Mutant holders. That means seven holders have to account for over 12,000+ different owners to keep up with the sanity and peace of the community.
Since these seven holders have a positive light and impact on the crypto space most people are behind Yuga's decision, but there are others who are making their voice heard about who they would rather have on the council and others who do not agree with Yuga's decision at all. The members of the council, by their Twitter handles, are @TheMiamiApe, @beijingdou, @0xWave, @negithenagi, @0xEthanDG, @SeraStargirl, and @peterjfang. BAYC's message to the Twitter community is "outreach initiatives" will be made by the council, so keep your eyes peeled.
